I played it and I must say that it's not one of your strongest games. It doesn't play bad, but it's a simple retro shoot'm up game. The special element, that your games very often have, is missing. So it's a nice coffeebreak game for a short while, but I don't feel the urge to pick it up again.
I dont think trying to pass the screen in computer game once per 500 tries makes you a geek. Rather a dangerous psychopath.
I was going to do the usual "shooting baddies" and "powerup" stuff, but I totally overdid it with all the effects! Figured any enemy bullets would all blend in and disappear.
Lesson learned : if adding particles, don't go mental!!!!
This is too hectic to be pleasant. You loose sight of your ship every now and then in the chaos of enemies and bullets flying. Had the ship been bigger or more "marked" on the screen it might have been better. Also the upgrades felt like downgrades when I went from multiple shots to swirly shots. Also powerups should perhaps include health...
Currently testing Life version 2.9 (With added second child)
(Beta testing in progress)
Indeed, FAR too hectic!
As for the bullets, the "swirly" bullets are actually much more powerful than the multiple ones.. (the multi's do 2 points of damage each hit, whereas swirly do 6) so, it does kinda level out.. kinda!
I dunno, I thought the game was a wee bit too much "in your face" without any pickups!!
... Plus it doesn't loop very nicely! If you get all the way through, the game kinda kills any remaining baddies and starts again! oopsy!!
