I played this game 9 to 10 years ago. In the past, I have played many variations of moving objects to the allocated places. However, I have never completed all the levels because other more interesting genre games came along.

Can't remember which level I stopped at, maybe it's level 19.
What is the "beep off" for? All the different PCs that I have tried the game on, I have not heard any beeping sound.
Just to satisfy your curiosity, the game has 100 levels. It's good considering that the game size is small. For your sake, I have confirmed it by jumping to level 100 and finishing level 100. After you complete level 100, it goes back to level 1. Level 100 is not the most difficult as there are other levels more difficult than this level.
One thing that I like about this sokoban clone is that the game area for moving boxes is small. You would not have to think of many ways of shifting the boxes. Thus you either get the solution or don't get the solution. There isn't many alternative ways of solving unlike some sokoban clones. This might prove difficult for some players. The levels are actually not difficult, a player just needs to think in the correct direction.
Tell you a cheat to skip levels (not much of a secret actually):
Edit the configaration file call boxworld.ini. Change HighestStage=100
What happens is that when you complete a level, the game just updates the configaration file to the level you are on. Thus you can play past levels that you have completed but not later levels. You just make the game think that you have played to level 100 then you can choose any level you want to go to.
Maybe someday I may go about finishing all the levels in between.
