Star Wars: The Battle of Yavin

Never a bad idea to gain some reputation by using "Star Wars" ;).

In this game you play a young rebellion X-Wing pilot and have to help Luke Skywalker to destroy the death star.

Everything in this game has the original "Star Wars" feeling and I really like playing it (espacially because of the original music and the excellent sounds). Graphics could have been better, but still a great game.

Did it work well with your joystick? I tried and think the game was much smoother when I was playing with the mouse.

There's also the battle of Endor on the developers site. I wonder if it's any good? Battle of hoth heems to be under development too... :)

Did anybody manage to reach level 5 by now? Best thing I did was level 4 with five x-Wings left of my squad...

But I try hard to get better....

Yeah, it worked real well. I was having fun with this! :D :D :D

Perhaps the finest freeware space shooter to be... unless of course you're completely averse to Star Wars.

This game could have been released by a commercial company and I would not have regretted spending money on it. After all I spent money on other star wars games that have similar gameplay and music and graphics...
Great game. Haven't finished it either YET.
Haven't gotten past level 4 yet.
I will go check now if Battle for Hoth is done yet...

Crap it looks difficult. It reminds me when I tried to play a game without any help/controls. (never found a file or in game help)Had to find the controls myself.

Not much to find out about the controls here. You navigate your ship and fire your laser with the mouse or the joystick. And afair the only key you need is x (to switch between the different laser modes). That's it.

Edit: And Q and A for the speed of course...

Most of the time where there are a lot of things to destroy and able to attack you I get confused and fail.
