Trilbys notes

Post by Chroelle »

Well if you think you saw the last of Mr. Trilby, then you have to check your eyesight, since he is back in the third installment of the (hold your horses) quadrology of Mr. Trilby...

Developers description:
My name is Trilby.

Four years ago I was involved in the DeFoe Manor Incident. I and four other individuals were trapped inside a manor house by some kind of supernatural intelligence; a dark wraith with murder on its mind, the ghost of the original owner's youngest son.

I was trapped inside DeFoe Manor for five days. I was forced to do something I can never forgive myself for. Possessed I may have been, but I was still watching through my eyes a man dying at my hands...

Three of us got out alive. Me, Simone Taylor, and Jim Fowler. The place burnt to the ground as we escaped, but ever since then I have been haunted by the possibility that John DeFoe was not at rest, that the idol that contained his soul would have survived the blaze, and still be out there somewhere...

July, 1997. My darkest fears have been confirmed. Another innocent lies dead. The idol did survive the fire. The only good news is that I know where it is. I have come to this hotel on this isolated Welsh island to find the soul of John DeFoe and see it destroyed, utterly and completely. Only then can I rest easy.

But I can't shake the feeling that there is more to this than the ghost of one retarded youth. Was it really pure will alone that brought such a weak, mindless creature back as such a dangerous wraith? It doesn't seem likely at all...

I wonder what lies below the surface...

License: Still need to find a way to contact Mr. Yathzee aka Ben Croshaw.

Well I downloaded the game a while ago and was looking forward to play it, because I liked "5 days a stranger" and "7 days a skeptic" very much. But unfortunately they changed the interface. This one is not a point´n click adventure any longer, you have to write down all orders instead (like the old Sierra adventures) :(.

But I will take a closer look at this one soon, because the atmosphere of the other "DeFoe"-Adventures was great. And maybe the new interface isn´t that bad...

This is the third game in the series by Yahtzee. In this game Trilby is looking for the idol which has caused all the trouble in the past. His search has led him to a hotel in a foreign country. But a little after he's arrived, he begins to see visions.

The special edition of the game which previously were given to people donating 5 dollars is now free. It includes music in the game and some extra stuff like the authors commentary track through the game, and a longer ending.

PS: Sorry for reposting something that's already mentioned. I didn't see that there already was a thread about this game before i wrote this post, but i didn't want to throw it away. The more the merrier :)
