Brutal Paws of Fury Remix

Post by Chroelle »

This action game I just stumbled upon:

There are 8 animals-fighters. Each one has unique abilities and fighting styles. They all have special moves, used to inflict more damage to the opponent. There are options for one and two players, and a special Team Mode where you fight two-on-one or two-on-two at the same time. There's also a Training Mode and a Watch mode, to learn all the techniques and watch a fight respectively.

The game has a good graphics. Controls: JOYPAD or KEYBOARD (arrows , . ) There is MOVES LIST on LINK 3 for each warrior

REQUIREMENTS: PENTIUM processor, 32 MB RAM, 8 MB VIDEO CARD

Downloads and info page:

I can't seem to get the damn game to work properly, version 1.0 simply won't start, and 1.9beta has corrupted colors, making it near impossible for me to see anything. I've tried 256 color mode, but nothing changes...

Do you see this message?

Error: Can't change video mode to 320x200x16bits
Switch to 640x480x16bits? (y/n)

I simply click "y" and game works fine.

I downloaded my version from Underdogs (remake, not original version).

Maybe we should post this kind of messages in freeware forum. I am thinking that this might not be a single case, so if we actually find a solution then it is available to all members and not only GH's. Just thought of it, when I saw this message. We have a few request-threads with that kind of problems...

We are in the Freeware forum, Chroelle, not the GH. :)

Yes, I got that message eMTe, but only for version 1.9b. 1.0 simply didn't work. So 1.9b was the one with corrupted colors for me after I'd clicked "Y."

LOL!

Poor overworked Chrolle. :D

Strange that 1.0 version wont start, 2002 game should start without problems on newer system...

Are you 100% sure version 1.0 isnt simply the original 1995 game? I had the same problems with it - just black screen. I downloaded remake from HOTU and it's not called version x or y (I suppose it's beta version then). I'll check readme file.

I have a new computer? Must have missed that... :nah:

But the game worked fine for me after I cleaned my graphic card and updated the drivers.

Can anyone post a moves list for the characters? I really have problems to figure out how to do the special moves...

Good:
Not alot of good graphic games with lots of moves in this genre is freeware.
Had some different settings which made it more interesting. I fought Miss Kitty in the curtain-setting and the lifebar was not shown either. Was kind of annoying but also diverse from rest of the game.
Bad:
Story mode had no story, just a series of opponents ending with a congratulations in small font.
The difficulty is totally off the scale. I ahd to play this game at the easiest mode to get past it, and I only completed it because I did the same 3 moves over and over again...
That takes alot of for me. I want to be able to complete such a game in the mid-difficulty, and get extremely challenged in the toughest mode. (I also want an easy mode for taking off steam.)
