Tired of losing friends?

Post by Chroelle »

Well, this is inspired by Dizi's post in the Bar to Lex about coming in more often...

I have frequented OG since 2002 and in that time period I have lost quite a few online friends, as they stopped visiting OG, and I never really had any other contact info on them other than PM's.
Newsflash: Pm's don't help when people don't visit anymore for some reason or other.

A lot of people use a never-checked email adress to sign up to sites, so having that one to write to don't help either...

This is why I thought of this post. I hereby leave it up to you to leave any contact info that can get us in touch with you if we miss you..

Here is my ICQ: 288 360 600
And my MSN: Christian_toft(at)hotmail.com (Don't check mails though).

Well, I'm sure no one cares, really, but:

sneubaum(at)computersystemrebuild(dot)com

(I am sure everyone is familair with how to convert that to email address. It's merely a security measure due to a recent influx of spam.)

yahoo screenname:

scalecrafter

I don't use AIM anymore, though, but it is installed on my computer and I do have an AOL account, so:

railwaymodeler(at)aol(dot)com

Chicago area members can check my website for contacting me in person, if they like on my website, www.computersystemrebuild.com

MSN is [email protected].

Don't send emails to that address, use the one in my profile, because the hotmail is my spam catcher. I just go in and delete everything in it once a month or so. Trying to wade through the ads and sex emails to find one or two good ones just isn't worth the hassle :p.

If any of you ever get one of those spam emails full of progressive poetry and post-modern literature, tell me about it: I'm majoring in post-impressionist spam dialectics.

My email uses the same name, but it's @gmail.com.

I get a couple of those a day, I think. Or maybe they're just random rubbish. ;) Do you want me to save one of them from the trash?

If it's the typical random rubbish, then no thanks (unless you think it deserves marks for effort). To this day, I've only gotten one spam-short story that made sense. It was about two lesbians teachers meating up in a hostel in Amsterdam. Quite interesting at first, but then the writer had a heckuva mood swing and tried to turn it into a horror story. It's a shame I've lost track of that one :D

Yargh! I opened up MSPaint for no reason; me msn adress already be in my profile <_<

It doesn't deserve marks for anything, but just as an example, this random rubbish just entered my spam filter:

Quite everything of all this was being published in thepapers every day. And you picked on Grass Lake as being the best because it was thecheapest.
Quite everything of all this was being published in thepapers every day.
Well, bawled Mason, any explanation to make as to that? What a pity you couldnt think to ask the price of theboat at Big Bittern? Well, they look like the ones I had there. Forwas he not now a victor and an elected judge! And yet you insist that you were with her some?
But I suppose we cant give upthe ship now. And now eachjuror was once more tense and leaning forward.
Getting a little more cautious nowthat were getting down to something practical. I didnt want any one to know I had been up there with her. And how much did it cost you to get to Big Bittern?
It was a dollar on the train to Gun Lodge and a dollar on the busfor the two of us to Big Bittern. And of course you had dinner that night and breakfast the nextmorning, which cost you how much? And to whom should he turn with the truth and for trust ifnot to me?
Cant you tell from reading that item there whether it is or not? You heard the testimony of Rufus Martin, the second cook up there at Bear Lake?
Then why did you pack everything in your room in your trunk andlock it?
Nodoubt he had not been fair to Miss Alden.
And now here it was being used against him. And he handed Clyde the four made at Bear Lake.
You bothered to askthe price of the room at Grass Lake. He was going to go on the stand and testify for himself.
And here he opened a letter and read a longsad plea from Roberta.
And accordingly you were fairly certain of coming back?
Yet, even so, Clyde was not concerned with this argument at themoment. Oh, yes, sir, I forgot about that, said Clyde, nervously.
Not when you were buying and eating thirteen-dollarlunches? Masons manner was snarling, punitive, sinister, bitterly sarcastic.
And now here it was being used against him.
It may often be morereliable evidence than direct evidence.
We find the defendantguilty of murder in the first degree. And he handed Clyde the four made at Bear Lake.
I didnt want any one to know I had been up there with her. And Jephson replying, alittle wearily: Thats right, Alvin, its mostly up to you now,Im sorry.
It musthave been in the Renfrew House rack.
It was the foreman of the jury, Foster Lund, adealer in cement, lime and stone. Why couldnt he have gone to the girls aid when he could swim sowell?

Bizarrely my hotmail account, which I use to sign up to virtually everything, is completely spam free whereas my much less frequented ISP-assigned address is a cesspool of mail-dung.

You can mail me all you want (I don't use messengers other than for work), although whether I'll reply or not is another matter entirely of course.
