I've discovered it a month ago and I don't remember it from any discussions "back then". Which means game is obscure. It's of the above-average freeware game quality, so it was probably shareware when it was released. Nothing special, but if you're still into gaming discoveries it's...well, it's not a gem, but it increases your knowledge of obscure games.
