So the head of the snake has been cut off, and the leader of the main murder squad operating inside Iraq is dead. Question is, will his death change anything. My opinion is it will shake things up for a short time, but that Al-Qaeda cell will regroup, and in next to no time it will be business as usual.
The fact he will no doubt be turned into a martyr won't help either. It will just rally more people willing to kill themselves for a cause I'm not sure they or we really fully understand.

This particular snake has many heads.
There are many death squads in Iraq at the moment. While the yanks are there, they will be the target of everybody... and once they leave the country will fall apart.
The people who martyr themselves aren't brainwashed either. They just believe in what they are doing. Is called faith I suppose.
If I lived in the 'Middle East' and had endured U.S interference all my life (like playing Iran/Iraq off against each other, selling WMD to Iraq (Ha!), removed the democratically elected offical from office so I could install a puppet) then I'd probably be pretty pissed too.
His corpse looked remarkably good for having to 500 pound bombs dropped on him. Surprising resilent the human body sometimes. Proabably turned to jelly on the inide though.

IMHO The Hydra will sprout a new head in a short time, we're talking about several groups and probably thousands of operatives for which at least a dozen or so could be his sucessor.
The main problem is that they are not only targeting foreign troops. It's pretty much obvious that anything(one) standing on it's path it's to be blown up or something.
