Crimsonland

Post by eMTe »

I havent big experience with top-down shooters, so the first title that came to my mind when I saw Crimsonland was Alien Breed series. The only difference is that C-land contains only one map or more precisely only one screen. You start at the center of the screen, then nasty bug-like mutant creatures start coming towards you, more and more and more. Game is very bloody - dead monsters bodies lay all over the ground what kinda reminds me of Syndicate. There are various weapons, interesting bonuses and career mode, so if you like these type of games this one is certainly for you.

You might be better off getting the latest version rather than these old versions from Game Hippo.

There's also a add-on music pack for the game.

The game is good for blasting away a couple of minutes, or if you have a heart-condition that makes your heart-rate drop. This will surely get your blood pumping adrenaline through your veines, and it wont stop till you're epileptically dancing the floor-boogie. To say it in another way... This game is rather exciting.

It is an oddly addictive game - and completely futile because it's you against unbeatable odds.

The sound effects are awesome too.

I'd be careful about this. The Reflexive version is not freeware (you have to pay for a full version) and having e-mailed the original author quite sometime ago, he told me that the original version (hosted on Gamehippo, etc) is actually not legal to host since Reflexive now own the rights to the game (because they struck a deal with him).

I noticed it on your front page today, so I'd think about removing it personally. I did when I found out that the old version wasn't legal to host.

Thank you for reporting! Until there is a final decision what to do about this game I edited the game info page, so "Crimsonland" isn't downloadable at the moment...

There's new version of Crimsonland available

http://www.crimsonland.com/

and btw, it makes me think how come it is not freeware if it is. There's big link screaming "get it free" and there's no "full version" to find anywhere. We check again?
