The goal in each of 35 levels is to fill three coloured pots - red, blue and green with corresponding balls to create magic potions. Balls fall from the top and the trick is to navigate them through the field of flippable switches, avoiding bugs who try to steal them, and also to navigate falling coins into sidepots to gain additional spells which help during gameplay. As with all similar childish and cartoony looking games Rolling Spells quickly becomes very complex and hard.
