Aquaria

Post by Drasir-Vel »

I've bought Aquaria and have been playing it for some time. It's an awesome game, one of those you can really get immersed in, like Cave Story. And it has great replayability, even after completing it. It's got a huge world to explore, and if you didn't use your map and just swam around, you could spend a long time playing it. Too bad they don't make a sequel though.

You're some kind of seawoman, that in all the time she can remember has lived alone in an underwater place. All you know is that this world is called Aquaria and your name is Naija. One day a strange shadow like figure appear before you and without speech gives you a vision of fighting and destruction. The figure disappears as quickly as it came, and that moment it's like you wake up and realize how you have been living like any other creature, not thinking beyond the simplest desires. A strong urge to find the answers to who you are, and why you're the only one of your kind, makes you embark on an epic journey that takes you to the far ends of Aquaria.

This is basically a 2D game where both the gameplay, and the story is top notch.
There are some gameplay videos here http://www.bit-blot.com/aquaria/media.html

Yeah I read the newspost yesterday. What a good idea to mix alot of indie games together and let people pay what they want for the lot of them. If only more developers would do this. :)
