Captain Sevilla

Post by eMTe »

A calm day begins in Seville. Mariano López goes to his job as sausage delivery man. Meanwhile, at Santiponce's interstratospheric devices center, everybody is getting ready to the first fully Spanish rocket launch, designed by famous Dr. Torrebruno, an eminent nuclear physicist who had to leave the project prematurely, due to a strange mental disease.

But nobody expected the rocket to suffer a sudden variation on its path, and falls right on the truck that Mariano López uses to transport a blood sausages cargo.

Mariano, unconscious, lies on the floor besides his sausages and the truck's wreckage, spread all around. Some hours later, he wakes up really hungry, and eats an entire box of the radiated blood sausages.

But... what the hell is happening!? Mariano is becoming different: Every muscle grows, he becomes taller, his ugly face becomes a pretty superhero's, Captain 'S', who discovers that everything was part of the evil Torrebruno's plan, with the true intention of ruling the World, starting by Seville.

It looks very promising. It has a humorous and original story, and the game is overall presented well. The gameplay can feel a little handicapped, since you can only hit targets that's on the same height as you and not half a meter above or below. It's a short game. Once you get a hang of how to play it w/o dying you can complete the two levels in half an hour.

To begin with, i thought this was too difficult to be playable, until i found out that you should always be in the Captain "S" mode because the normal mode is useless. period. :)
Your top priority in this game is to never let enemies near your. That's what kills you. It's not using too much sausage power (sounds weird).
Always stay in Captain "S" mode, and When you loose all power, immediately tap enter to get back. use radiation shield instead of trying to evade shots. On that note, your biggest weakness is the enemies that are in the air, because apparently it's physically impossible for Captain "S" to throw things in any direction but level to himself. :) There it's also a good idea to use radiation shield.

I like the intro. That's a superhero origin like it should be!

And I think it's not even half as hard as Captain Binary. Haven't completed it yet though...

At least in easy mode it isn't hard at all. I you follow the hints Drasir-Vel posted above and also realise that you can fly and don't have to kill the enemies, you will succeed very soon. Gameplay isn't very special (there are certainly better platform games out there), but the game is well designed and colourful.

An annoying thing is that one time you used all your sausages and loose a life, there will in most times be no chance that you can get back into the game. You will instead loose all your lifes within seconds.
