Treasure Hunter Man

Post by Pater Alf »

The new platformer by Bernie and this time completely without a kitty (I miss it a bit).

Let's see what Bernie wrote about it:

"Old project, new release. This is a game I stopped working on a while ago even though it was almost done. The last levels aren't what I wanted them to be, but oh well.

In THM, your goal is to explore an island and find lots of treasures in ruins and temples and so on along the way. As you gain new abilities, you can access new areas and more. As usual it's a pretty short game.

I think I fix most bugs, but the game is still sort of a beta so it might do something stupid, But nothing game-breaking. I hope.

Features

-Explorey gameworld
-Inventory / usable items
-4 dungeons to explore
-Pretty short
-Plays a lot like AGWAK"

First impression is good even if it seems to be harder than his other games. Not that many savepoints and the first boss is really hard to beat...

I am stuck right where the third screenie shows. Only the gate isn't open...
How do I get it open please...

EDIT: Nevermind. I figured it out.

Highlight to read spoiler:
You simply have to use the sun (that you just found) next to the weird statue. I just missed it when trying.

So I guess you had fun with the first boss monster after that. Damned, I really had to try hard, before I was able to beat it for the first time...

I had to quit after trying it for some time, because I had to pick up the girlfriend from work, but I will try again today.
Am I misunderstanding this or are you supposed to jumpm up and slam down on the button making the pole shoot up and hit the boss?

I finally made it to the final boss (at least I think it is the final one) and I have no idea how to beat him. I can't find any weak spot on him. It seems I have to try some more...

I'm pretty sure I missed a lot of stuff and secret chambers on my way to the final battle as my inventory is only half full and I haven't done anything with the eels (I just have two of them) and the cat.

In my eyes "Treasure Hunter Man" is Bernie's best platform game so far and if that's what happen if he creates technically unfinished games, he should develop more of them...
