Hero of Allacrost is a single-player 2D role-playing game inspired by classic console RPGs. The game is free open-source software and is available across several platforms including Windows, OS X, Linux, and FreeBSD.

Last piece of news from July. Demo version 0.2.2 is the last stable, according to site there's some sort of team and they slowly, but steadily work on a game. Not near completion by any means if you ask me, but not dead also.
