Kennedy Approach is an Air Traffic Simulation game, in which you play the role of Air Traffic Controller. It's your job to guide airplanes to their destination. And safely. Some planes will just pass through your radar sector, others need to land at or take-off from the airport(s) in your sectors.
You can issue planes orders: climb/descend, turn left/right, clear to land and hold at VOR. Each order you issue is spoken out using the speech generator the game contains. Planes may not pass each other to close, must exit your sector at a certain altitude and at its exit, must not fly into bad weather, must avoid mountains and no-fly zones (or fly high enough) and may not run out of fuel. All in all, the game becomes increasingly different as more and more planes appear.
Failing to do so might end your career and in some cases (wrong exit or crash) WILL end your career.
Three planes are featured, which travel at different speeds: the concorde being the fastest, then the boeing and lastly a cessna.
Kennedy approach was released in 1985 for the Commodore 64 and Atari, in 1988 for the Atari ST and in 1989 for the Amiga. The game was published by Microprose and designed by Andy Hollis. It featured computer generated voices using the Electronic Speech Systems engine.
