Finally....! Take 2 officially announces GTA4 for PC today!
As speculated before, it's coming. The US Version shall be released November 18th 2008. The european version 3 days later (Aug 21).

Since I've already played it to death on the X360, I'd never make a thread for this :p

I am guessing you meant to say November 21st. Though it would be wonderful to have it here August 21st. :D

Forget GTA IV. Saint's Row 2 is out, and it is HOT!

If you played GTA for the fun of it, SR2 beats the hell out of GTA IV in pure loads of fun.

Admitted, the story might not make as much sense if you haven't played the first one, since it is a very direct sequel.

in respect to GTA 4...I played this for a while...I think I killed the first mob boss guy to free your uncle from service, and did some more missions and quickly grew bored of the game...does it get any better? Or does it stay at roughly the same caliber all the way through? I only ask because if I sell it now, I can get a buttload more than if I wait to finish playing it after I am done with Fallout 3...which could possibly be never...

I wouldn't say it gets much better - there are highlights and there's bowling... Not that I remember what you must have been doing up till that point. Some missions are really fun, but the main gameplay doesn't evolve that much throughout.

Alright. Thanks for the response Scythe.
Btw, I recommend Fallout 3 if you haven't played it yet...I can't stop playing it...

I played Fallout 3 non-stop for a while, but when I started just doing freeform exploration it got repetitive. Thankfully, Persona 3 FES came out in a PAL version, and I dusted off the ol' PS2.

is good? I thought about getting that, but never played any of the previous Persona games so I was afraid that I'd be missing something...

No relation to previous Persona games.

If you'd consider a Japanese high school dating game, in which the school turns into hell every night after midnight and you have to fight your way through it, good, then it's good. In all honesty, it's extremely repetitive, but the story is something else. I like it, but my taste is, well, different. :)

If you liked Princess Maker, you'd probably like this.

Don't ask me how a GTA IV topic came to this.

This just in: GTA IV is out for the PC, and is shock full of glitches, framerate issues, popins, you name it. Users across the world complain endlessly, and users of Amazon have rated the PC version 1.5 stars out of 5.

Rockstar have admitted that the game will have problems with "certain graphics cards" - these apparently being pretty much all cards in existence.

Patch to come eventually.

As a long-time fan (GTA1 4 life), this really sucks. Both GTA III and GTA: Vice City had also lots of problem initially on the PC, but nothing in this scale.

ok, despite me saying that I was going to sell this game ASAP. I have started playing it again...I don't want to ruin any story lines so I won't ask any of my evil questions until after everyone who wants to play has played...mostly things that could alter the storyline if true...

Well I got money for X-mas and went out and bought this of course. My first experience was that Tanja was going out the door for some serious shopping, and I was going to stay at home with Anna who was taking a nap. 4 hours later Tanja came home, and due to anna not sleeping very well, and an amazingly annoying installation process of GTA IV, I just got the game installed as she stepped in the door. 4 hours guys....
But the next day I was able to sit down and play some, and so far it has caught me ok, but it hasn't got the same feel that I had when I opened up vice-city or GTA III.
The glitches, pop-ins and framrate issues are hitting me hard, and I cant go fast on a bike without the framerate coming to a crawl... And this is on a brand new laptop with more than the recommended requirements.
The story seems ok, and there are lots of small cool details, like the aiming in cars, and darts, and getting drunk in bars and trying to drive home. Once more they made a dating/friend system that I find annoying. I think it feels a little like facebook on adrenaline sometimes!
I like the small backstories about different people in the game, and I like that the surroundings feel like..well surroundings. Things happen around you that has nothing to do with you - construction sites, and even that fact that some guy steps up to the hotdog vendor across from your (first?) home, and buys a hotdog - the little things.
So far I am enjoying this, but I will definently feel better about it when some framerate issues gets under control... (if ever)...
