Tile Pile

Post by tilepile »

Hi everyone

A friend and I have just finished making a game. It's free and we'd like people to try it. The idea is this: move around the screen collecting tiles and collect them all to reach the next level. Sounds easy but things are made tricky by direction tiles, ice tiles, gravity tiles, and teleport tiles, all of which do different things. The game has over 150 levels, two single player modes, four two player modes and a level editor. The graphics are rubbish but you should enjoy it if you like puzzle games. Please click here: Tile Pile. There are screenshots and source code on the site. Please give it a try and let us know if you like it.

Cheers
Jamie

Hello and welcome.

[topic renamed to game's title] ;)

I love puzzlers with rubbish graphics. ^^

The basic idea seems to be similar to Hex-a-hop and Pozzo - Jello Crusade. Both are very entertaining games that are great fun to play. I hope that Tile Pile can match with them.

I will download it and tell you what I think...

P.S.: Can we host the game if we like it?

Sounds interesting indeed. Could someone please post some bigger screenies? (perhaps in the first post?)

I posted some screenshots...

So far I played the first 30 levels and I really like what I saw. There is a clever level design with some different tiles and so the game isn't as easy as it seems at first.

There are several different modes to unlock (I'm really looking forward to see the two-player modes) and so the game doesn't get boring so soon.

So far I didn't find any technical bugs. Some sound effects or music would be nice, but I really don't miss them that much. And as you really have to think hard in some levels (and sometimes there is even a time limit), it might be a good thing that there are none.

I will go on playing, but my first impression: Very well done!!!

I really like the challenge mode, but I think that 10 lives are too much. 5 lives would have been more than enough. Or maybe different difficulty modes with a different amount of lives...

I dont mind the many lives. I think the levels are the difficulty here, and it shouldn't be about how many tries you need, but simply wether you succeed or not.

GREAT game!
