Alien Invasion

Post by brandonman »

Hey, I just found this forum, and have decided to register, and show my game. I know it's not exactly awesome, but hopefully someone finds it meh, so-so. If just one person was addicted to my game, I would be eccstatic (Spelling?)
Anyways, here we go:

-genre: Kind of a space-invaders/1 on 1
-who made it: Me at hergesgames
-release date: I released it free april 1st, realized selling wouldn't work
-game's status: Free
-download link http://www.hergesgames.com/AI.html

By the Way, I just want to add that the game looks really slow in screen-shots, but in play, it is actually high-paced and I even feel frantic as the developer! I may have beaten it once, and have only heard of one person beating it. Very challenging.

I like the concept. I haven't tried it yet, but havve you thought about making difficulty settings if it is that hard? I mean like a Easy mode or Hard mode setup.

And indeed welcome to you. Hope to read more from you.

Pretty simple little time waster. What makes it hard is that the background planets tend to obscure the shots. That, and sometimes when a new enemy enters the screen, it gets the drop on you. Otherwise, sticking to one side or the other, where you can actually see the shots, makes it a lot simpler.

I didn't get past the fifth enemy, but it seems to me that some occasional random turns on the enemy's part would make the game a little less predictable. If a later enemy does that, forget that I said anything. ;)

Now, what's this I hear about a text based zombie game??

First, that text based zombie game, you don't want to even hear about :D It was pretty much a 3 layer tree, ie, the first prompt was: You are being attacked by a zombie, what do you do? 1: get attention of cop, 2: fight with fists, 3: play dead. The 1st one moved you on, and the other two just meant you died. Not really a game :O About the random thing with enemies, that's a great idea, I'll try getting that implemented!

I tried this out now and I must say that the planets seems more like a nuisance to me after some time. It would be nice to be able to see your shots, and in some stages - the enemy too.

I did however play it over more than a dozen times and that means you gave me a time waster that can be enjoyed.
