After seeing that nmfinn is 62 years old, I became wondering.
My mother is almost 60 years old and she recently started a new hobby: playing computer games. She plays these coffee break games, likes pretty graphics and hates time limits. Few weeks ago she bought her first computer game online. I find this all very weird, because she has never before showed any interest in computer games. All time long I was the only one in my family to play games. My sisters played a little bit some games, especially with Game Gear (and they were pretty damn good with Mickey Mouse-game). But now my mother plays much more than I do, because I simply don't have much time for that anymore and also I have lost a lot of interest in gaming.
Do your parents play computer games? How about your brothers, sisters, kids, pets or partners? How about your grandparents, do they even use computer? My granpa is 89 years old and few years ago he bought himself a computer. First I thought it was great, but after seeing how much trouble he had understanding everything I didn't felt so comfortable with it. It is just sad to see how much trouble someone can have with something that most of the people take granted (eg. copying files).

My mother plays the computer games I install on her PC when I come to visit for a few days and don't have anything better do. I think I left the Sims for her (she pretty much killed them off
), and most recently Sid Meyer's Pirates, which she wanted to play but wasn't sure if she could figure out.
My dad got me my first PC and we used to program games together, but he doesn't actually play, except when I make him compete in puzzle games.
My grandmother got a PC a few years back, but as her short term memory went down the drain, she can't use it.
Siblings? Don't have any. Pets? The cat used to play games to get attention (sit on the keyboard).
I play games 25 hours a day, or something like that.

I think that only the guys (brothers and brothers-in-law) play games in my family. I tried convincing Tanja to play The sims, but she was annoyed with the fact that it was all make-believe, so she never got a feel for it...

My older sister used to play computer games when we were kids. We played a lot of strategy and simulation games (like Kaiser, Vermeer, Hanse or Oil Imperium) together. She also liked quiz games.
But when she grew up she lost her interest in computer games and just plays Minesweeper or Solitaire from time to time.
