Samurai Railroad Mansion

Post by Pater Alf »

Another game that was made for the TigSource Video Game Name Generator Competition (there seem to be some good games in the competition). This one reminds me of the classic arcade game "Westbank", but it is settled in the far east instead of the wild west.

You have to attack the evil opponents with your blade. But be careful: You will lose honor if you attack a harmless maiden instead or kill an opponent that surrendered to you. And if there is no honor left you'll have to kill yourself...

The game concept isn't too original, but "Samurai Railroad Mansion" has amazing art and a great soundtrack to offer. And these things make the game highly playable.

I'm certainly grabbing, if RapissShare will let me... (So far it already screwed me up by telling me the code was wrong - *sigh*)

You know what I am thinking: Is there really a railroad in this game or not?
Without trains America Stops- Support Amtrak

Old trains never die. They just sit in ruin and wait until the day they are taken in by a skilled craftsman and rebuilt to their former glory.

Yes there is a railroad (but mainly because there has to be one, because of the name the generator created). And you better don't attack the trains that use it. You will loose honour otherwise...

A new version is out (Version 1.02). You should try this one to get rid of some nasty bugs...

That's.... HARD!! Awesome, but HARD!!!!

There's something to be said about a game where the first enemy is one of the hardest.

Is this really the best I can do... Say it ain't so!!

The best thing you can do is always kill the first enemy at sight. This way you won't get the Bushido bonus, but you will get a few points and you minimize the risk of being killed. That way you should be able to get better scores...

Hmm, must have been too slow, kept getting dishonored when I tried that. Better try again so I can see more stages.

EDIT: Actually I'm doing even worse when I do that. Now I keep hitting the other samurai guys before they draw.

I got a little better, but now I'm at stage 7, and that's HARDER! (The boxes are f*cked up too)

Stage7 is HARD indeed! All those ghosts look quite similar and most times I hit the wrong ones. Haven't managed to complete this level by now. But I think it's the last one and after that the game starts again at level 1, but with a higher speed of the opponents.

It is an arcarde game. As I wrote in my first post it is very similar to the classic "Westbank".
