Murder in a Wheel

Post by Chroelle »

Developers description:

A Locked Room Mystery

Story: Roderick, Lady Blackwin's beloved Hamster, was murdered. It is up to you to solve the crime and find the killer.

MiaW can be finished in half an hour if you rush through the conversations.

The game is based on LucasFan's MMM Starterpack. Story & Graphics were done by me, and the midi music was borrowed from several old games.

I think I played this some time ago (probably when it was "Pick of the Month" on the AGS site) and was stuck right in the beginning. But maybe it wasn't my best day for solving adventures. Will try it again...

Ok, nearly one year later I tried it again...

"Murder in a Wheel" is quite short and quite easy to solve. But as long as it lasts (about 30 minutes) it is well made and fun to play. Graphics remind me of the old LucasArts adventures (I think the game was made with the Maniac Mansion Mania starterpack), parts of the soundtrack are directly taken from "Day of the Tentacle".

The story is interesting and logical, puzzles could have been a bit harder for my taste. The dialogues are quite funny (at least they are in german).

Solving a case with the murder of a hamster. A weird situation, but still very much fun. Like any good point'n'clicker this is like reading a book. You get nice and slowly through the story. Good, reasonable and well thought through game. But not anything special.

Ok, finished. As far as the game is short and not quite logical even for adventure game (#SPOILERS DELETED#) actions you must take are not always obvious. Game has very good dialogues and manages to mix flawlessly black humour with serious tone and suspense. Cute little piece of game and fun to play.
