Space Merchants: Conquerors
This game looks amazing if you look at screenies. I think you can expect another Freelancer experience with this, and a good one too.

I played this once, and was really fascinated by the stunning graghics. Also that it uses the same equipment principle for your spacecraft as the Diablo games.

Re: Space Merchants: Conquerors
A bit scary that this one prefers to install into a directory called "SM Conquerors". I might have to hide that one form the wifey, so she doesn't think I am into some kinky stuff.

By the way, this game is an ad for a certain "Becherovka" beer. Looks a bit scary when somebody makes a several hundred kilometer sized sign in space just to advertise a beer.

Re: Space Merchants: Conquerors
I noticed it.
This is pretty hard to figure out what to do in, and when I finally got somewhere I got killed because I was unaware of an enemy ship just to my side... Is it all about travelling to the war-sector at first and shooting low level ships to upgrade or...

Re: Space Merchants: Conquerors
It's been some time since i played this so i can't remember much. But yes it's something about getting experience to upgrade your skills and money to upgrade your ship. and when you're ready, follow the objectives.

Re: Space Merchants: Conquerors
Do you have any idea if I can mine anywhere near Earth? Or if I can trade in some way that I can make some money already from the beginnng other than fighting???

Re: Space Merchants: Conquerors
To mine you need a mining machine. It's something you embed on an asteroid an then get back to later when it's full. I can't remember where you can find such asteroids. But mining is indeed the most profitable method of gaining money. You just have to be able to afford the mining machine first.
Edit: you may need to start with trading goods between stations in the sector you start in before you're able to take on the enemies that appear in other sectors.

Becherovka is not a beer. It's a bitter herbal liquor, maybe the most well-known from the whole Czech Republic. Re: Space Merchants: Conquerors
The guy tht tells me stuff in the beginning only tells me to go to point A, then talk to person B, then go to point C. I dont really get that much info I think. Perhaps I just didn't do it right, or wasn't paying enough attention or something. I think I will start over and try it out again.

I was about to make the same point. It's pretty far from beer, and pretty good with coke.Pater Alf wrote:Becherovka is not a beer. It's a bitter herbal liquor, maybe the most well-known from the whole Czech Republic. Here's a link to close this big gap in education...

Re: Space Merchants: Conquerors
Goodie my first post related to one of my favourite games. This game can be long or short...you choose. Short game is simple. Skip tutorial, go to neptune, press Tab until you see pirate base in the corner go to it talk to the guy in there (supposed to be your father) and there you go, credits start to pop up. I usually go with the game because later on you can get special unique items such as an engine with hyperjump, auto-miner and so on. If you need any walktrough/help I'll be glad to help you.
P.S.: I know that this is old and no post long time but i just can't hold myself.

No problem. We don't care if the threads are old. As long as someone has something interesting to say, he/she can dig up old threads and write in it.
About "Space Merchant: Conquerors": The screenshots look familiar to me, but I really can't remember if I played this game. Somehow I have the feeling that I didn't and I wonder why. I was a big fan of "Elite" (on the C64) and this one looks kike it follows the same game mechanics. I think I will download it tomorrow and have a closer look at it.

Re: Space Merchants: Conquerors
The first pic is a place that I never was...looks like the game is much bigger than I think. I thought that it was limited to the few squares close to our system...When I get my PC back I'm going to search every single square and to make things easier for others I'll make a written map to save the searching to others. But I still can't figure out how to complete the engine mission...When you get the Engine+5 it makes things look tiny...
