Well the source code to sim city was finally released and is now available for Linux (so far only LINUx as far as I can tell). To protect copyrights the source code is called Micropolis as that was the first name for the game prerelease.

Developer: Don Hopkins

No screenshots sorry as I cant play it myself. Linux and all...

But I can tell you that it is around 7 MB's and GPL 3 licensed.

My guess it won't take a week for someone to compile it to run on Windows.

I am thinking the same thing. That is why I submitted it, knowing very well that if it was pure Lnux, then there was no chance of it being validated fully as we need linux-people.
