1.st person shooter for Linux and Windows. May be concentrated around network play. However this looks good
Here's already quite many sites having this for a download, but anyways, since game sounds promising, I decided to write it in here. (No, I have not played it --- yet.) License, screenies etc. can be seen in the page below.
Game is of course good looking and professionally done, but it really lacks some kind of tutorial as to what to do and who does what etc... I found some reading in the folders but I always have the feeling that if the game does not provide me with enough info to guess what to do and what not to do (and in this case who to shoot), then the game is flawed. Please dont think I dont read the material provided because I think I do that far more than the average player, and as such the game is flawed since the average gamer will miss this.
This is one of those frag fest games where you feel like a noob to the game no matter how experienced you are in the genre. The comments fly throught the air in different colours and styles leaving you with the feeling that somewhere in there communication got lost and died a lonely death.
I liked the game as it reminded me of Day of Defeat which I loved alot. I played this with friends for a while, which was my first to playing multiplayer games - so that is a good thing. However I get the Counterstrike feel when I play this. People jumping all over the place removing all sense of looking at a true battlefield. No sneaking and camping like real war...
Currently testing Life version 2.9 (With added second child)
(Beta testing in progress)
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is one of the most popular free-to-play multiplayer shooters in the world. Pitting Axis against Allies in the ultimate team-based battle for Europe, it features six huge campaign maps, five character classes, and numerous weapons, tools and items.
