Invincible Island

Post by eMTe »

Invincible Island was originally a text adventure by Richard Shepherd Software for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

Everything is controlled by the space bar with one exception (the escape button can be used to quit).

When you press space on the title screen you will be presented with a series of options. Each option is highlighted in turn just press space again when the option you want to select is hightlighted.

Within the game, the same thing applies. Press space to get a list of interactions, then press space when the interaction you want is highlighted.

Why this kind of controls? There's actually such a thing as a one switch controller which can be mapped to a particular key to allow disabled persons to play games.

More one-switch games can be found at http://www.oneswitch.org.uk/2/switch-downloads.htm .

Interesting! I didn't know there are one switch adventures. Controlling works much better than I thought. The game itself is ok. It's not that hard and I'm not sure how decent the remake is as I've never played the original game.
