Ore No Ryomi

Post by Pater Alf »

Not as polished as "Ore No Ryomi 2" (more or less a "light" version), but you might like this one if you don't like certain aspects of "Ore No Ryomi 2" (like the fire extinguish or the robberies) or if you think the game as a whole was too hard.

Here' the description of the developer:

"Welcome to the first Cooking/ Restaurant simulator ever made with Game Maker! Based on the original game for Playstation One in Japan, Ore no Ryori challenges the player to cook orders for customers while running the buisness at the same time! After the day is over, you can even buy new items for your restaurant.

But beware...your restaurant is in trememdous debt, and if you can't pull yourself out of the red before the deadline, your eatery will go under!

Check out everything you can do in this game:

-Prepare beers, soups, steaks, sandwiches, nachos and pizzas for customers, with different orders for each item.
-Keep up with the safety ordinance law by doing dishes, disposing waste, answering phones, checking the mail, reading the news, repairing equipment, catching robbers and more!
-Buy new items for your restaurant such as a tip jar, TV, candy display, buffet and more!
-Make your customers happy by producing perfect orders, or even average orders (but try not to do a bad order!)
-Many reviews and comments suggest this game to be original, addictive and fun!"

By no means as good as #2. While the difficulty is better balanced, it simply doesn't have enough options to keep it entertaining for as long as the sequel.

It might not be fair to compare it with the sequel, but I have to do so because I played "Ore No Ryomi 2" first...

In comparison it isn't as good as the sequel, but I still like it. It's easier as you don't have to cook some of the stuff that's nearly impossible to get right (like the fries or the chicken wings), but on the other hand I miss the crazy cooking challenges, the trophy room and some of food.

But I like that there's an arcade mode and a campaign mode with a clear goal (earn a certain amount of money within 30 days). And the game is still quite addictive. I just wanted to play five minutes again to be sure about my vote and ended up playing for nearly two hours.

There's also one thing that I hate: How can this damned television explode at least four times a day??? I always thought things produced in Japan have a certain quality.

It is "Ore No Ryomi". I wondered myself, because the title screen looks like "Ore No Ryori" but another look at the developer's page and the readme file told me it is in fact "Ore No Ryomi".
