Championship Wave Racer

Post by eMTe »

Looks like a remake, but I couldnt find any info about original. Nowhere. So maybe it is not.

Simple overhead racing game with ten tracks. Very fun, but lack of any options is the big downside.

Championship Wave Racer is our remake of the CPC/Spectrum/C64 game "Championship Jetski Simulator".

CWR was made in 2003 and is one of our first games, it does however feature an entire replay of your last race as the original game did.

Thanks for explaining. I dont know the original so I cant judge how it keeps the spirit or anything, but I will try it out soon.

And soon turned out to be 1½ year later. :)

A good game with lots of retro feel to it. This is something that I might play with another friend at some point. A good clean fun racing game!

The controls are hard to master since it is on water, and you can't predict the direction very well due to the low resolution. Except for that, the gameplay is good enough. There are not many possibilities in the game, since you can only start from track 1, and have to start all over if you lose later. It's like a typical arcade game with a highscore table.
