Three the Hard Way

Post by eMTe »

Stumbled upon this game long time ago, couldnt run it (hmmm...), forgot it and stumbled upon it again. Revealing the banal kill-the-evil story is unnecessary, instead it is important to say that TTHW seems to be longest in terms of gameplay length and biggest in terms of world size RPG Maker game ever made. I'm usually sceptical about such conclusions, but there might be some truth in it. Ive also read review bashing game's skills system. Havent played it, dont know who is right or not, but it looks like this game cant be missed.

Game looks pretty ugly in comparison to recent rpgs and seems to use standard tilesets for that time, but hey, it's an oldie, right?

I've played this for some time and it's a good game with good story. One thing that annoys me though is that no matter how far you are in the game you don't get more GP than there are enemies. That means, if you fight 3 enemies you only get 3 GP.. no matter where you are. That can get quite annoying since the prices for equipment and lodging at inns do increase.
So far i've gotten to act 3.

Completed the game after a long time. It's a very long game, with lots of story sequences. And even though it gets epic, it always manages to keep at least one feet to the ground at all times, and having a laidback attitude towards things. It's actually quite easy because every time i met a boss, it was easier to beat them than i thought, so you don't have those moments where you barely win on the inch of a hair. It has a lot of good puzzles and mini-games. All in all, a good game you can relax to.

Reminds me of Tangar Mountains in Laxius Power... Tens of those hairinches. Nothing of this here I suppose. ;)
