Laser Tank

Post by eMTe »

Puzzle game with over 2000 (!) levels and evergrowing database of them (thx to editor). The task is to move the tank to destination point (called "flag") in smallest number of moves and shots possible. Tank can move in four directions, shoot objects and move objects and there are various obstacles on its way of course.

Looks fun.

Btw, I wonder how soon Chips' Challenge clones will outnumber Mario or Pacman clones. :P

Well, it's a puzzle game that has all the basics seen before. It offers nothing new, really, except an endless number of user submitted levels of widely varying quality. These have been lumped into bundles that should reflect their relative difficulty (except it's pretty off - I imagine the user who submitted it chose the difficulty rating).

It's perfectly playable, most of the time, though I did run into an unsolvable level, where you had to fire from a conveyor belt (it said so right in the hint) - only you can't, because command inputs are suspended while moving on the conveyor.

It has a save function so you can try out things, a big plus. But the sound is truly awful and annoying, so that should just be turned off quickly.
