Zak McKraken - Between Time & Space

Post by Pater Alf »

A promising fan made sequel to the old classic "Zak McKraken and the Alien Mindbenders".

The Story (or at least the beginning of a story):
"July 27th 2009, 11:45 pm - flight Memphs - Zurick:

Overtired and unshaved Zak McKracken is dewlling in the loading room of a russian airplaine. It is very cold and Zak has sliped under covers. Drinking the very last drops of coffee he feels a shock seizing the plain. The motors stop aprubtly and the plain seems to be stuck high above in the air. Zak peeks through the window when he hears sombody moving far behind. He turns around and catchs a glimpse of two shapes and suddenly a heavy punch on his head.

July 28th 2009, 07:30 am - 13th Avenue, San Francisco:

Zak awakes by a loud and unmercy ringing alarm clock. He has vague memory of the last night and there is no sign of his last night's trip exept a terrible headache. Neigther does he know where he wanted to go nor what would have awaited him there.

A thrilling adventure seems to loom at the horizon... "

Most of the work is done (just some voice acting for minor roles and beta testing left), so there might be a release within the next few months...

Developer: Artificial Hair Bros.

Official Homepage: http://www.zak2.org/

The homepage is just in german at the moment, but there will be an english site in the future (and the game will be in english as well)

I think they have everything ready. They have some well known speakers for the german voice acting, like Sven Hasper (german speaker of Michael J. Fox), Engelbert von Nordhausen (Samuel J. Jackson, Gene Hackman) and Frank-Otto Schenk (actor in several TV series).

And they have a forum with lots of fans that wait for this release for a very lonf time. So I think there will be enough beta testers...

Just one more month to go. They announced the date for the release party. It will be on April 19th in Cologne. So I think the game will be downloadable one or two days later.
