Logi-Gun

Post by Pater Alf »

When you look at the screenshots first, you might think "Logi-Gun" is just another normal platform game. But it isn't. It's a puzzle/logical game in which you have to reach the exit of the level by using the abilities of six different guns (for example spider-gun, polarity gun, crappling gun). Each gun is introduced in a small tutorial which gives you the knowledge about the use and the abilities of the certain gun.
Some of the puzzles are really hard and I had to try over and over again to solve them. Sometimes I was even frustrated and quit, but I always returned an hour later, because I wanted to prove myself that I can beat the game.

"Logi-Gun" has cute graphics and animations, but is lacking music and a fullscreen mode. But these are just minor flaws and I don´t think you'll miss these things too much once you started playing...

I really like this game. Sometimes the solution is so simple, but you won't find it because you think in a totally wrong direction at first.

I finally finished level 2-3 some minutes ago and it was really great. You can use your bow to flame bombs and blow up stuff that way. That kind of thing is always fun...:D

I must say the platform bit of this game is too punishing for my liking. Especially the web shooter is frustrating, since your controls in the air are very limited.

Best use of the web shooter is to just shoot straight in the air and click again right after shooting. This way you'll have a web at the height of your head. Jump up and do the same again as long as you'll reach the place where you want to go. This way the web shooter is easy to control and you can use the web as a ladder.

But I agree that some might find certain parts of this game frustrating. Sometimes you don´t just have to find the right solution, but you have to run through the level and shoot your guns with highest accuracy (or else some doors will close again or you won´t be able to finish).
I think these parts were challenging, but in fact there were some times when I quit because I was pissed of. But I always returned after some minutes to prove that I could beat the game....

I find this game to be a bit too frustrating for me too. I think there are some brilliant concepts in it though.
Worth a play if you are a die hard puzzler, but otherwise I think you will leave it shortly after the first levels.

Then call me a hardcore puzzler (and I don't even consider myself so) as I have finished the game. But I must admit that sometimes I'm a bit afraid of myself. Sometime ago I quit the game, because I really was stuck in one of the last levels. But after some days I woke up in the middle of the night and suddenly knew how to do it. I even had to write it down, because I didn't want to start my computer at 4 am and was afraid I would forget the solution...
