Well, this game is a real big download, so I'm not sure if we really want to host it on our site.
"Fate by Numbers" is a full motion video adventure made as a project by some students in the Netherlands. The crime noir story takes place in a mega city in the future (the setting reminded me of "Blade Runner").
"Alice Sanger is a private detective in a futuristic metropolis. She started out her career in the police force, but got fired after she tried to expose corruption within the bureau. As a result her marriage went downhill, her ex-colleague and soon to be ex-husband joined one of the more powerful commercial armies of the city.
After a couple of missions he went missing in action. Years later, weathered by bitterness, we meet Alice when she starts on another dodgy assignment from an anonymous client. She needs to get a briefcase. This journey takes her down a dangerous path. She must get her information by breaking in and question anyone who might know more.
Fate by Numbers was made as a graduation project for Communication and Multimedia Design (Avans) in Breda, the Netherlands. Revival is the name of the fictional company behind the game, set up by four students. The game was made on a shoestring budget (1500 Euro).
The purpose of the game was to make a FMV-game to satisfy old school adventure gamers and introduce new players to the genre. But also to see if it is now possible to make a game using technology previously only available for big budget game companies." (Informations taken from the official homepage)

"I played through Fate by Numbers and all I got was this lousy T-shirt."
Nah, I played through it and was well entertained. I don't know if "we" want to host a >1GB game, but if so, this is the best freeware FMV adventure game out there. Well, it's the only one I know.
These are not professional actors, and neither are they professional voice actors (some are definitely better than others), but it's not so bad that you're groaning, most of the time. It's very, very easy, but then I suppose you're playing it to see what happens next.
Unfortunately, the ending is highly unsatisfying (can you say, "to be continued"? I knew you could) and even though there are (at least) four different endings, they're basically all the same.
Clearly there's a love of film noir here, and a gigantically huge nod to Tex Murphy. Well, he deserves it and he doesn't need to be ashamed of this homage.
I'd play this just to see how far you can actually come with freeware. But it's not the worst adventure game I've ever played either. Shame it isn't just a little bit harder, a little bit longer, and a little more wrapped up.

They are definitely planning to do a sequel of "Fate by Numbers". That's what you can find on their homepage:
"With more than 350.00 players world wide and 10.000 unique visitors on our webpage each month, "Revival is searching for a publisher to start the production on Fate by Numbers part 2"
And I agree with Scythe: You can claerly see that these are no professional actors, but some of them acted quite ok. I liked the guy who played Robert for example (Remco Corman).

Well regarding hosting then I think we should host it. We have the space and we wont mind the traffic
I am currently downloading, and it seems that when I have played it, three GH's have tested it so we should maybe make a requestthread regarding this one
