Bruce Lee 2

Post by Pater Alf »

There's a sequel to the classic game "Bruce Lee". Many things are similar to the original game (grahics, animation, level design). So if you liked that, you might like this game as well...

Now that is a great idea. A sequel to one of the great classics. If it plays as good as Bruce Lee (1) then its sure to be worth the download.

Well it plays similar (same moves and kicks, same enemies and features).
But as you can see on the screenshots the levels are much bigger and to compensate this the player's character and the enemy sprites are much smaller than in the original. I didn't like that at first, but after a while it felt ok and didn't minor the fun anymore.

Must definitely try it for scientific purposes. This would be first buggy merseyremakes game.

You have to collect all the lamps (or balloons or whatever it should be). If you do so walls will disappear and new passages will appear so you can go on to new places...

Pager: You can press I during the main menu screen and get instructions.

Pros:
I found the gameplay to be very similar to the original Bruce Lee and that was definently a good thing.
The larger gamearea also enhanced the gameplay possibilities.
The opening screen gets you in the mood.

Cons:
Well by upsizing the whole thing you ended up not being able to see properly what you were dealing with. It made it hard to navigate in areas, and the original was hard enough to navigate through with its already small sprites. This did not help, even though it di enhance the gameplay.
The difficulty is hence also increased and once again this was too much in my book. You should be able to more or less rush through the first two levels, but I was game over on level 2 in my first attempt...

I would recommend it as it is a remake of a classic and a good one indeed, but it wont be an easy task getting through this.

I was dead right after second level had begun. Difficulty level rises too quickly imo.

If nobody else experiences crashing, then I guess that's an isolated case on my comp. I can hardly play the game when it crashes on me, and there's no save feature.

I only had the occasional slowdown which showed its head a total o two times, but in very different places in the same level (first) and didn't do it again when I retried first level, so...
