Kumoon

Post by eMTe »

Game submitted by: moshboy

Kumoon is a hybrid of a third person shooter and a puzzle game. Player controls a chicken that tries to knock down boxes in various rooms by shooting them with a revolver, shotgun or a bazooka. Kumoon won the first prize in the GameDev compo at the Assembly'05 party. Kumoon uses the MOPE physics engine written in 2004.

I actually downloaded this a while ago and played it. Never got around to submiting it though...
Very funny game. I played through a lot of levels before I put it down in my first try. I blame the appearance of even more games on my HD for me not playing it again since then. It really is worth a try.

I think this is a tech demo to showcase a physics engine. I honestly didn't find much in the way of an actual game here, but your mileage may vary.

I think I remember level 12 as well. If it is the level where you have to shoot through a small window without knowing where the boxes are, then it was really annoying.
Leaving the solution of a puzzle game (I´m not even sure if I should call "Kumoon" a puzzle game) to pure luck is no good idea in my eyes...

I doubt pure luck is needed, there's probably some evil position you should place your chicken in and just shoot with proper angle. Anyway, level 12 discouraged me to Kumoon completely.

Hint to Mikko: no more levels 12!! ;)
