The White Chamber

Post by Pater Alf »

"A young girl wakes to find herself inside a strange glowing coffin, in a dark room. Who is she? What is this place? Why is she here? As she explores the warped environment she finds herself trapped within, she must search for answers, all of which will lead her closer and closer to the white chamber and the truth it holds." (Studio Trophis)

This is a great point'n click adventure. Playing it you get the feeling you are in a nightmare. Soundtrack will send cold shivers down your spine and will create a real terrifying atmosphere.

There's also great voice acting and the game is subtitled in 5 different languages: English, Russian, Greek, Czech and French (interesting collection)

Long time ago I tried to download it several times...with various accelerators too. Both filefront and second download broke with no resume possibility. So I gave up.

Is it as good as it seems?

I'm grabbing it, and we'll see. :) If it finishes the 299MB d/l tonight anyway.

I'm playing it for two days now and it's worth the big download without any question. Atmosphere is so thrilling, you better don't play this game alone at home with your lights off...

I sat down and played through it in an hour and a half... well past midnight. Ohhh-ohh-ohhhhh....

Great game. Loved the voice acting. After completing it, I read that it has eight different endings. I'm not sure I want to try to chase them all down, but maybe just one more.

It reminded me a lot of "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream" - one of my favorite adventure games.

I got the "Damned" ending, by the way.

Let's see if I sleep well after this...

EDIT: I gave in and collected all the endings - some were just death scenes. And found some easter eggs. Good fun!

I also completed the game and tried four different endings. It's a strange thing that the answers you give right in the beginning of the game will influence the end that you get...

But after all it's a great game with excellent sounds and voice acting and some funny easter eggs to be found.

Version 1.6 of "The White Chamber" is available. It contains Italian and Portugese translations.

Downloaded it at last. Not from CWF. Didnt know there's a working copy to get from our site. Kill me. But note the fact that I'm not the site user. Ah, nevermind.

Anyway, looks like a good game with creepy atmosphere, entertaining story and demanding puzzles. Like it already (visited 4 rooms so far).

Work tomorrow, I'm back to gam...erm...sleep. Yes, sleep.

*cough*

Can someone please press Home key during gameplay and tell me if something happens?

That's one way of reaching Debug Mode.

I know, but what's this debug mode and what's its purpose?

It's a simplified way for a developer to track and correct errors.

As a player, just think of it as an easter egg.

Great easter egg. I have access to all locations from the start.

No, it didnt spoil the atmosphere, did I say that?

Now where did I put that gun and Studio Trophis address?

Of course not. But seeing all locations (well, I couldnt restrain from entering) including the title one after few minutes is what true adventure fan cant take easy.

Well, I'd consider that along the line of cheat codes - if that's how you like your games, you use them; if not, you don't. I messed around with it a little after completing the game... four times... Of course, by then there wasn't anything new to see in it.

A walkthrough for The White Chamber is now up at the download page.

I snafu'd (again), and accidentally multiplied d/l size by 1000. Sorry...
