I'm sorry Scythe, that's not right. I think the game was most "famous" (hee hee) for the Atari ST but it had wildly different graphics on that (no colours, wire frames) but this is from the C64 version. It is very old - 1983/4 and not listed on either Moby Games, Wiki or HotU.
The only clue I'll offer is that the software company who made it is now mainly involved in making strip poker games.

And what if time doesn’t exist? And what if reality doesn’t exist? And what if reason doesn’t exist? Dreams, essence, beings, feelings, Life, would they all exist?. A final count, a count to our wake, a count to zero, a lottery of lives in which nobody wins and nobody looses, but everybody wants to play, why?

Well, the publisher gives it away. Apparently, it's a game called, of all things, "Gwendolyn"... I certainly never heard of it. On the other hand, I see that Artworx made the wonderful game "Battle Through Time", which I remember was really great fun.
I still think it should be "Sands of Egypt." It had that exact same line, "You are lost in the Desert", used to describe almost every location in the game. That's why I thought it must have been that.
