My nostradamic observation is, internet will eventually downgrade to omnipresent, down to every sentence, sex and violence.

Its the nature of the medium, which is very new, and thus will be used to the maximum capabilities like mill or plough have been in the past, until it will be replaced with better tool.

Well, I think the problem is egalitarisation

Only a few decades ago there were ELITES who told lower classes how they should behave, what music should they listen to, whic movies to watch, which rules/laws to follow etc etc

The dream of the leftists was, everyone will become an elite with correct rules, laws, ways of behaviour, education etc. It proved to be a dream indeed, because most people come from blue collar background and they dont give a %%%% what to do, unless they get paid and no one kills them

With an incoming rule of sex and violence we're facing true democracy in my opinion. Last few decades were sort of unconsious enlightened absolutism. Elites were here and the direction was correct and they thought everyone will now follow the road.

My guess is they (hoi polloi) won't. Or it's a mixed bag and something new is afoot.

Call me insane, but soonish, the number of mass shootings will outnumber the number of deaths of celebrities worthy of announcement.

It's a massmedia-nihilism paradigm shift.

Have you noticed how people being in grave danger, open to being shot, still record the whole "event" with the smartphones?

Is there any difference between the shooter and the victim, if both of them want to get caught on camera?
