Who cares about that, I have tried a few joints, I know peoplewho smoke them regularly and they are as normal as they can be (more than me, asa matter of fact) so I don't know why everybody makes such a fuss about it.

If you drink alcohol in excess you stay in a much worse condition than if you would smoke joints in excess

In my a-level class I had a friend who smoked up to 15 joints a day, he was one of the best. On a weekend I went on a trip to southern France with him, at 4 o'clock in the morning he got up to smoke one.

Quite surprisingly he got his degree with no problems

Not quite, in a sense it's like smoking a pack per day of regular tobacco, the same you can't say of 15 glasses of wine or half-pints

Well to counter that I would like to add that a good friend of mine was one of the smartest people in class and smoked cannabis sometimes. He did good and went on to college too, but after college he had a breakdown. He is now institutionalized because the cannabis triggered some genes of mental illness he had in him...

Adn don't worry I am not being holy here. I just don't think that people should glorify cannabis. It might be a great natural product. In the same way I will not glorify alcoholism...

Cannabis isn't a safe drug but I don't agree with prohibition. It compounds the problem and makes otherwise recreational users in to criminals. It should be a health and education issue, not a legal issue. But public bars are not the place to debate such issues. If you would like to have this discussion may I suggest posting in the council chambers?
