Funny that you ask. Today was the Leipzig marathon and I ran the half-marathon distance. I didn't expect too much, because many small injuries prevented me from doing really long or fast runs during the last months. In the end I didn't do a new personal best time, but with 1:40:54 I was just about three minutes slower than my personal best. So after all I'm pretty content with my physical condition. :marathon:

I'm also training for a half-marathon which is two weeks away now. Today was a pretty good day here so I ran a bit longer than I intended and looks like I'm right on target for my goal of finally beating that silly 2 hour mark.

Oh, so you run too. I remember only Chrolle and Pater talking about running. Sorry. :D

I run half-marathon several years in my life, but I never measured time. I never do. I am running for pleasure and healthy heart. But if I beat a particularly long distance I check map and sometimes it happens to be 7 kms, sometimes 12. ;)

Well due to my neck I haven't been running much, but before that I was doing ok. I decided to work on my pace this year as I am more of a stamina than pace guy. I dont run that fast, but I can run pretty far, so I am trying to push my regular pace at the treadmills (its easier working on getting your pace higher on a treadmill than on the normal road, becuase the treadmill keeps the pace for me...)
I am planning however to begin running outside within the next month. I am considering signing up for a shorter run this year and checking my form before I decide what to do with my annual Eremitagerun (13,31). Signing up for that begins pretty soon IIRC, so I need to know this years form before that.
It is harder getting time to run now that we have both Anna and Molly, as I usually run at night, and before I could ask Tanja if she could do the bedime routine alone with Anna, but with two kids..well you can do that puzzle without a piece of paper and a pen!
Good to hear you can run a distance like that for fun now eMTe! I remember the feeling I had when I was running those kinds of distances for fun,.. Its amazing - total runners high! :marathon:

I almost forgot to mention that we had Cracovia Marathon yesterday. Some guy from Kenya (surprise!) won and collected the main prize - Fiat Punto. He would collect also an additional prize - 30,000 in cash, but he didnt beat the record.

I talked today with one of our regular customers who is an avid runner and participated in marathon, but he was unhappy - he wanted to beat 3:45 barrier, but ended with 4:15 complaining that he's getting old. I dont how old he is (looks 45 the least), but I think 4 hours for an amateur in his age is pretty good result.

And yes, I am running for fun only. If I have bad day I just run 2 kms, if I feel good I run 12, but Im not interested in beating personal records or such. I simply like to be active, that's it.

So, you guys remember that tax receipt thing I did last year? Well, we just got nominated for Data Journalism Awards.

In other news, the link should bring you to the english version of our site.

Also, in other news, we're competing against BBC News.

I tried to run today, but the heat during daytime is enormous for this season, especially that it came unexpected after a period of relatively cool days. I started around 6 pm, but after 2 kms I felt bad and decided to head back home. The air is very dry, even now, at 10 pm and with windows open I feel that it is warm. It was almost 30 degrees today, not something that you expect by the end of April.

I had a great weekend! An old friend of mine visited me with his wife and his two kids (one and three year old). The weather was wonderful, so we spend most of the time outside and had fun. In the evenings we drank some beer and talked (about the old times, the present days and dreams for the future). They left an hour ago and now (after four days) I feel quite tired, but also a little lonely.

Think I will spend the rest of the evening with some computergames ("Poacher" and "Duke Nukem 3D") and will go to bed early.

My router died, so I had half a week offline. Thankfully, support agreed with me and sent me a new one. And it even works. Good thing, since I was getting antsy. Internet addiction, it's sad.

If you had weather like we have for a couple of days you would forget the broken router. It was 30 degrees for 3 days in a row, so I spent them hiking, biking, running and in general - outdooring if there's such word in English. I barely had time to turn on computer, except brief moments at mornings and evenings. :D

Oh, but mine are too; the difference is that I dont have problems with having a bit of sun and warmth from time to time. :D

On another note, I just received a reply to my pm from December. What a pleasant feeling. :D

I was out in the sun all day today. I'm guessing I will pay with sunburn.

Well, it was much cooler today and they predict fierce storms and occasional hailstorms for whole country, starting that night or tomorrow. The weather this evening was perfect for running, so I did 12 kms, probably in good time, because I really felt great.

As for sunburns I still forget that I should use lotion for the top of my head when warmer days come. So I got some extra red colour in this part of my earthly incarnation which already started to die. :D
