Re: The little Inn by the wayside
I took a step to the dark side and went to a dog exhibition today. There were two Swedes looking and poking my dog all over. Now I have a diploma that my dog is fit to breed. Yay.
(I have zero intention to do so, but the breeder asked if I could go so I went. Apparently my dog has curiously small hind paws.)

Fun avatar. You now work for Coca Cola or something?
Speaking of illnesses (these topics occupy more and more space as the community gets older
) I visited laryngologist today, because for a couple of days I felt like somebody put a ping-pong ball into my throat and I had problems swallowing. I had these problems for years and felt something down the throat from time to time, but never the feeling was so unpleasant. All I got to know is that the bottom part of my palate is inflamed and looks like a balloon. Diagnosis: probably reflux disease, since I am not ill, dont cough and have no other symptoms related to respiratory system, sinuses etc. So Im facing antibiotics treatment again, only after a couple of weeks, and I was advised to do gastroenterology. Fun.

What news? Are these "news" related somehow to Zyx's avatar?

Re: The little Inn by the wayside
Jay is home!!!
Thanks to all who wished me well.
I'm now at home nursing an odd bulge on my neck, and with eyes so completely messed up, I'm unsure if I've made any spelling mistakes here!
To be fair, I should be glad that the only thing effected from TWO brain surgeries appears to be my eyes!!
scary stuff!
Thanks all

Hey Jay,
great to see you're out of hospital, back home and that you're doing better!!!
I hope everything is fine now and that they don't took out all your creative energy when they operated on your brain...

Re: The little Inn by the wayside
Welcome back! Brain surgery can be scary. For what its worth, the medical field really has had a lot of practice in it. My dad was born in 1950. When he was a baby in 1951, doctors found he had a tumor in his brain, which, as they told my grandparents - his parents, was sure to be fatal if not removed. The doctors advised of a 25% at best chance of surviving the surgery. Of course 25% is better by a wide margin than 0%. So my dad had brain surgery performed on him as a baby in 1951. He's still going rather well today!
He's rather fortunate with his medical history - back in 1973 he was in a serious automobile wreck. Back then, the way that American automobiles were made, combined with many autos not having seat belts, he was very fortunate to survive the wreck. And, not only did he survive, but was mostly unhurt, except for his right hand. He had his arm resting on the open window, with his hand feeling the outside air at the time of the accident. He was in the passenger seat in front, a friend of his was driving. Only injury worth mentioning to my dad, was loss of part of a finger. So he had a steel pin put in the remaining part of the finger.
He and his buddies got together for his bachelor party in fall of 1974, nothing special, just drinking lots of beer and playing basketball. Drunken basketball! Sadly, he seriously damaged that pin during the game. Doctor told him to not go forward with the wedding the next day. Dad insisted and was high as a kite on pain meds for it.
Fast forward: Over the past decade or so, he's had at least two confirmed strokes, and two heart attacks. Then he went into the hospital for shoulder surgery. As he was in the recovery room, still out from the gas, he had a massive heart attack. Only reason he survived it was because he was already at the hospital, and they caught it when the machines hooked up to him sounded alarms. Doctor told us that the massive heart attack was so severe that had dad been anywhere else, he would have had NO chance of surviving it!
He still keeps going and is still active too!

Wowsers Raillo!
Good to see you back Jay. And glad you found your password.
It was pretty intense watching the amount of fluid they took out of your head, so its good to hear that you're home and somewhat well - depending on how bad your eyes are... Is it a passing condition?

Re: The little Inn by the wayside
My only hope is that Maria and Skoda never have to go through any of these health problems.
Yesterday I got a cortizone shot to the bad knee. The results of the MRI found I do not need surgery, but do need physical therapy, and to not work as hard as I do.
The doctors told me that there is tissue and muscle in the knee that can self-heal to a point. Past that point, then surgery is needed. The damage was right at that point, where if I had waited another month to get it checked, the damage would not be able to self-heal.
So yesterday Maria and I go to the doctor. The doctor sprayed the knee with something to numb it. Didn't work so well. I sure felt the needle just the same! Maria had me hold her hand as they gave the injection. Given her build, I am surprised I didn't squeeze her hand enough to break it! Yeah, I really hate needles!
So Maria and I are just relaxing today at home. Probably going to not go anywhere in particular. Skoda is sitting on Maria's lap. Maria is sitting on the edge of our bed. Next to the bed is a small scale model railroad. Maria's also running those trains, and Skoda is watching these tiny models zip around. Opposite end of the room is my work desk, with my hobby projects on it. I'm at this desk now, typing here. Feels like absolute bliss now. Window's open, light breeze coming in. Nice day out. Can't ask for a better Easter weekend.

Re: The little Inn by the wayside
Well, I already visited family twice during these easter-holi-days and today its the third and final (remember I have a big family). We are all pretty worn out by now though after driving, visiting, eating, sleeping over etc...
I am looking extremely much forward to being able to kick it tomorrow. Hopefully I can get in a little gametime - though still spent on Mass Effect. I have a few games in here that I want to try out as well, and I am pretty sure that I have to move my Minecraft game to the laptop, as I watched some videos recently that totally turned me back on to the game...
I cant wait till summer hits properly and I can sit outside in the sun with a book, my laptop and a cup of coffee. Currently the weather went ...well south... again. Meaning that we got ALOT colder weather recently. 2 weeks ago I was outside for 3 hours staright in my t-shirt, yesterday I froze my a** off in 2 minutes wearing my winterjacket...

Yes, could someone turn off the winter mode again, please?
Yesterday and today it was even snowing here. Weather god can't be serious..
