After work we went to a great place (big lawn by big lake) and sat there and enjoyed the silence - except Anna running around and climbing in trees. Felt kind of old for a sec, but thats ok.

Hey, you're an established man, married with kids and all that. It's worse for us geezers married with computer games, constant partying, casual sex, hard drugs, heavy rock n' roll and... what was I saying? Oh yeah, enjoy the silence.

And on an unrelated note, at the end of October, Blackdiam.net is closing down! Dr. Jones (AKA DarkLord) has been graciously maintaining the old OG archives on his site from the last nine years. There's a lot of history there and I don't know what's going to happen to it. Even though I haven't posted a whole lot lately, I still feel sad that it seems to be coming to an end.

Thanks for birthday wishes. I try to not celebrate bd, but there's always somebody online or in rl who remembers or gets reminded about it. Ive been given (by friends from work) stovetop kettle with whistle (something I really wanted). And they also bought me three free dinners at a local bar where are I am used to eat for many years, valid for 7 days; I even have a formal subscription paper with stamp and manager's signature. Yay!

No vodka, only occasional beer or wine and never alone!

Although I have been around forums for quite a long time, thinking about what you mentioned is quite sad. Perhaps like the saying goes "all good things must come to an end". Over at your side, is there any Angry Birds product craze?

Over at my end, there are all sort of things with Angry Birds - stationary (pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, memo pads), stickers, flasks, speakers, soft toys, key chains, bags, passport covers etc. Seems like they become like Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty kind of image where a lot of common things have these pictures on them. Recently, a kid carrying a transparent blown up latern in the shape of a plane and with angry bird pictures on it.

Well I admit that I did buy some stationary The mechincal pencil with a catapult on the top did look kind of cute .

a) Video where someone made a payable Angry Bird Cake?
b) Angry Birds board game from Mattel hands

For the actual game, I still think the Angry Bird Rio is cuter.

Not yet, but it'll hit in less than a year, I predict. Used to be very predictable when crazes made the move over the pond, but these days, with the internet and what not, it's a little harder to tell.

Eh, didn't know they had such a thing. Angry Birds are best left inside the game. The props in the movie aren't as cute as the soft toys available. As for the prospects of the movie, it's still too early to tell. Hope it's not one of those movies with lame story and created just for the sake of using some icon/character.

I'm guessing the trailer is just a joke and it's not actually a movie, considering that it was made by Rooster Teeth Productions and advertises that Michael Bay is directing it.

It's a funny trailer, though. I particularly like the scene of the guy being strangled by the slingshot.

Actually I was not too sure whether it is a joke but it seemed that there might be some kind of "Angry Birds" movie being in development according to IMDB. However, there is no information such as by whom or about what. It could be a more seriously thought out movie compare to that.

I just found out that there is an Angry Bird card game when someone posted a picture of the box on facebook. Then I found this video. It's not something exciting but it an interesting change from the traditional UNO.

On a side note, something random to say for the sake of saying...My wife and I were out walking the other night, and our neighbours were throwing out an old door that was in their garage. My wife pondered picking it up, but didn't want to make it seem like we were taking stuff from our neighbour's trash. I decided to go pick it up in the dark. My reasoning: It is a solid wood door, not these flimsy ones you buy nowadays, we could always put it in our attic, because if there is ever a zombie outbreak, we could use it to board up the windows.

People throw weird things. Not so long ago Ive found a comfy chair, quite worn-out in places, but useful for average undemanding student and clothes rack with small rust spots here and there, but fully operational otherwise. Just weeks before I bought broken second-hand clothes rack which I had to macguyver a bit. But to be true, people often leave unneeded householdies or furniture in or next to garbage containers exactly for the purpose of others taking them. I also did it once or twice. But I agree, Id feel uneasy taking stuff from the dumpster in broad daylight.

My fear was that the neighbour would come out as I was going through his garbage, and I'd be thrown into one of those awkward conversations where the whole time I would be uncomfortable because the guy knows I was picking out of his trash.

I just hope we can get it painted before they ever come over, or I'll get into one of those, "Hey, I had a door like that..." conversations.

My wife wants to mount the door in a frame, but then just put the frame in the middle of the attic going absolutely nowhere. I like the way he thinks...next we'll be putting in mirrors, and one of those treadmills, and a creepy carnie to sit on a stool at the entrance...

speaking of the fun house...someone just called here telling my wife she won prize for the survey she filled out last week, she could choose between either a Slap Chop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUbWjIKxrrs or a three night paid for vacation anywhere in Canada...hmmm...what a choice...how does one choose?
