Talking about sports, for a couple of days I am fighting a malicious boot sector rootkit or maybe only its registry remains, because Im not aware yet what is the true problem; so far all I get are alerts from Avast and various rootkit removal tools. First half 0:1, but I plan to win the match.

Re: The little Inn by the wayside

It really is a sport isn't it?
My wife picked up the malicious Antivirus 2010 while looking through the Jobs Canada website supplied by our government while on my work laptop. Which usually isn't so bad, as it is cleaned easily using Malwarebytes while in safe mode. But...our work laptops use something called safeboot which doesn't allow the computer to be started in safe mode. So, I logged in and quickly logged off once given the option, and while doing that it gave a list of all the programs that couldn't run because it was shutting down, recorded them and went after those files specifically. So to cut a longe story short, I managed to clean the computer but while doing so, the backlight on the screen died. Just when I thought I won, they scored on a garbage bounce and wounded my star player.

2:1! Coming from the bench in second period, TDSS Killer got rid of the m@t#$rf^ck$r! Victory!
In the process, Ive become a semi-profi in the field of rootkits and master boot records.
On another note, since it's end of April, lets wish ourselves Happy Easter Time. Im adding "time" from this year to every wishes, because I completely abandoned celebrating (or pretending celebrating) religious feasts, so it looks like the relatively safe wishes. It contains both religious and freetime element.
It's only the transition period though, because world around me isnt prepared for "Happy Free Time" wishes yet. But after 20 years, who knows...
Btw, question for 50 points, who remembers any Easter game we have on CWF, besides Easter Avenger?

Re: The little Inn by the wayside
I am pretty sure that was it. But that should take care of the relatively few Easterdays, that are actually there to be played on.

Re: The little Inn by the wayside
It's the worst Easter I remember, in terms of weather. Heavy downpour, all night and all day. At least people I met were nice. I was invited to the countryside by my friend for breakfast and dinner with her father, his woman and her daughter. And their dog, mix of Caucasian and German shepherd, actually bigger than me. I dont know why, but all the time she observed me cautiosuly I had strange gut feeling that she's waiting for supper. Pity I had to leave after dinner.
I like dogs, but I prefer small ones for some reason.

Yep, and by the way, the little "pause" icon belongs actually to the web hosting software surftown runs, so I'm quite sure it was them.eMTe wrote:No, it wasnt him. He told me.

Is anyone watching the Ice-Hockey World Championship? Germany started with a sensation and beat Russia 2:0!
I hope it will get as interesting as last year when there were many underdog wins. But it's looking good: Switzerland needed the extra-time to beat France and right now Slovenia took the lead agains Slovakia.

I will never understand why World Championship and Stanley Cup Playoffs have to be at the same time...
