Cat Poke

Post by Pater Alf »

"Cat Poke" is a small puzzle platformer made for the TIGSource competition: A Game By Its Cover. The premise of the competition was to design an a game based upon a previously existing fictitious game cartridge.

"Cat Poke stars Molly, a little girl who is stuck indoors on a rainy day. Luckily, she has 9 cats in the house to mess with.
The kitties are hidden around the house, so Molly will need to collect tools and think creatively in order to poke all the cats."(taken from the official homepage)

The game is very cute and it is quite hard to find all 9 cats and get them out of their cover.

Previously existing fictitious is quite contradicting isn't it? I am not sure I get the idea right...

Well, first some people created pictures of the fake cartridges or boxes. Then the developers could choose the pictures and create a game that was connected with it. That's a short summery, if you want to know how it worked in detail, here's the link:

Now I got it. Thanks. So someone made the box first - thereby previously existing, but they made it all up so - ficititiuos. :) Got it. I am not sure if you can see where I was coming from there. :)

I had a similar situation at work where I was going over some boxes and one of them was labeled "fantasy stuff". For a second I wondered if there was going to be anything in the box...
