Looks like Dune II has been released as freeware at http://duneii.com/ ?

Also, there is a remake (with multiunit selection etc.), but it requires the original data from Dune II (which, of course, isn't a problem) http://dunelegacy.sourceforge.net/wiki/ ... /Main_Page

edit: argh, it's just abandonware that no-one cares about. Strange that is hasn't been released as freeware, as the original C&C's have been.

Some enterprising souls have made a "remake" of Dune II called Dune Legacy, which adds multiplayer and other niceties. However, it does need some data files from good, old Dune II.

It sounds a bit weird that you need the files from the original game to play it, as that kind of messes with the whole "remake" idea IMHO.

If original files are required it's a mod, not a remake.
