S.U.A.V.E: Sport-Utility Assault Vehicle Extreme!

Post by eMTe »

Don't let the tongue-in-cheek humor of the title fool you - SUAVE has seriously fast and intense gameplay. In this game you pilot a lone tank assaulting an enemy base, armed with a modular weapon system and a device that can affect the flow of time.

The full version of SUAVE is now available for free. It includes several extensive maps to explore, an Endurance mode that generates progressively difficult rooms, and an editor that lets you make your own maps.

---

"Is now available" means that game was formerly commercial, what may be true. It looks and plays like solid shareware product.

It is an awesome game, and I am leaing on saying perfect here. The fact that you can only change one of your weapons, the steering which is a bit too fast at times, and a few other things annoyed me. It of course annoyed me as they were disturbances in a REALLY GREAT GAME! This has a big arsenal of different weapons which feel very different to each other. It has shootable cliffs, which will reveal secret rooms, and colorkeys to find keys for and unlock, numerous different enemies that needs to be battled in different ways, and hours of fun.

This is as fun arcade as it gets. It's a really awesome game. I couldn't find anything negative about it. You can also make your own levels in it with the editor.

The name does sound familiar. Did he make anything else I might know?

*shrugs*
I played Megaball to death on the Amiga, though. Heck, I actually bought the system based on that, Deluxe Galaga and Lemmings 2!
.. Go Amiga!!!

(Although playing WAY too much Megaball reduces your interest in future Ball-vs-Block games!)

He's done some music! (.. \me likes Android Dancehall 80's mix!!)

Very nice! A little to fast and hard to handle for my taste, but still great fun.

There are lots of enemies, weapons, secret rooms and because of the size of the map, you can play this for hours. And if you get bored by the default map, you can create your own one using the editor.
