"Tales of Zuidat" is an action role playing game. You create two characters (rogue, fighter or sorcerer) and have to explore 15 maps in search for an exit. On your way you have to kill lots of enemies in turn-based combats while you search for treasures, weapons and new spells.
The story:
"Old legends speak of an evil summoner called Zuidat, who can mold and create anything with a swing of its arm. Nobody has ever provedly seen this being, though tales about it are often heard. Young warriors often try to make a name for themselves by trying to convince others that they have slain this summoner.
In the normally peaceful town of Teldun, a lot of strange things have started happening recently. Some people have reported hearing random screeching noises coming from the nearby forests. Someone even claimed he saw a brown “imp-like” creature when he went out to gather berries. As if that wasn’t enough, some of the townspeople now appear missing.
As legends of Zuidat are very well known in Teldun, they are starting to believe that this mighty summoner is behind these strange events. They believe that Zuidat is summoning ghastly creatures and ordering them to harass the town.
The citizens of Teldun are advised to stay in their homes to avoid the dangers that lurk in the wilderness, but they mourn for their missing friends, and someone is going to have to explore the cause of these events eventually. Forests surround the town, so they won’t easily be able to seek help from other towns.
The citizens are starting to realize their desperate situation, and are preparing to send in two of their best warriors to explore the wilderness, with the ultimate goal of eradicating Zuidat himself." (taken from the manual)

Re: Tales of Zuidat
This game is insanely hard. I have started a new game 6 times now, and died within the first minute all of them.I have faced 7 enemies in total - yes I have won 1 battle so far, and lost the rest...
If anyone have any idea how to play this better than I do please tell me.
EDIT: Funny stuff - I ALT-TABBED out to write the message, and as I entered the game again, and said NEW GAME, I was suggested to have the face of the guy from Quest for tires. As soon as I switched from him I couldn't choose it again. Fun easter egg.

Re: Tales of Zuidat
The characters start without any weapons or armor so it can be a bit tricky in the beginning. It becomes a lot easier when you find some weapons. Since at the beginning you don't have any items yet, the character stats play a big role. The following stats are recommended:
Fighter: 8-10 Strength (Increases damage)
Rogue: 8-10 Dexterity (Increases speed)
Sorcerer: 8-10 Intelligence (Increases spell damage)
In addition, any class should preferably have 8-10 endurance (Increases hitpoints). If you happen to find the guy from Quest for Tires, he has a bit better stats than is normally possible.
After winning a fight, it's a good idea to keep resting until both characters are back in good health. Do this by pressing spacebar or clicking the campfire icon in the map screen.
When you find a weapon, equip it to get a nice damage boost. Equipped armor absorbs some of the damage from enemy attacks. Amulets give special bonuses. Right-click an item to see it's description. It's also important to keep spare items in inventory as items wear down very quickly in this game.
Even with good stats and items, there's always luck involved; the game is almost impossible to beat without making extensive use of the save/load tactic.
I've also uploaded an introduction video to YouTube that demonstrates how to get through the first screen:

Thanks for giving that info. I think I will go back and give it a go again with this knowledge at hand.

Well, the save/load function is definitely your best friend in this game. I played through the first three screens yesterday and I don't know how many times I saved and loaded again. I still had fun though...
