Polarity

Post by eMTe »

One of the most unique platformers ever made. A bit too short, so is more a showcase than full game imo, but is unforgettable.

---

Polarity is a 2D platforming/puzzle game based on the concept of magnetic forces.

The goal of the game is to navigate environments and solve puzzles by using your suit's magnetic properties in interesting ways. You can attract to and repel from objects, instantly switch magnetic polarity or even boost the strength of your magnetic field for added abilities.

Polarity was developed by a small team of graduate students in the spring 2007 semester at the Carnegie Mellon's Enterntainment Technology Center.

Only thing wrong with it is that it isn't longer. It can be completed in a rather short matter of time, but you will be challenged to a very fitting level all along the way. I really loved the gameplay, and I was sad to see it end after playing the few levels.
A must play for all in here.

It has some nice 3D animated characters and the gameplay is good, with great graphics and music. But it's a short game.

Great game with a very unique concept! Technically it is brillantly executed. It's just a shame that it is far too short and far too easy (level design is still very good though).
