Sanctum

Post by Moogle »

Hello, I recently went digging for a good freeware site (with active forums) and after seeing this one, i was surprised at how active it was. Anyways I Just thought I would help out by filling in a few holes in your list of freeware games( Don't worry I promise they'll all be quality games. .) Starting with... Sanctum.

"Sanctum is a first-person tower defense game set in a beautiful science fiction world. You take the role of Skye, an elite soldier sent out to protect her hometown, Elysion One, from hordes of mysterious alien creatures . To facilitate your success you construct defensive structures and upgrade handheld weapons. Jump right into the fray and wreak havoc with your own weapons, and unlike regular tower defenses you are a key part of the defense. Sanctum has taken the best of first person shooters and tower defense games to create something totally unique.

•Unique mix of Tower Defence and First Person Shooter
•Use various weapons to defeat the attacking horde of aliens
•Develop your personal strategies to prevent the destruction of Elysion One"

Genre: Tower Defense/FPS
Made By: Coffe Stain Studios

Singleplayer? Yes
Multiplayer? No
Status: Freeware (Currently in beta)
Download: http://www.udk.com/showcase-sanctum
File Size: 300mb

Final Notes:
- I only included a video with this post because i'm currently posting a lot of games and don't have the time to go through this process for each screenshot i put up:
Step 1. Find the Image and copy it.
Step 2. Paste it onto paint and resize it
Step 3. Upload it to Photobucket.
Step 4. Copy it onto a post.
Step 5. Delete it from my computer.
- I might eventually get around to putting up screenshots, so please be patient.

Read This : (This applies to all the games that I post.)
- I do not include 'Direct' downloads with these files in respect to the developers and for the purpose of being operating system friendly, as most of these games are.
- If you want a direct download for a certain game (Chances are I won't be able to find you one if you are a Mac and/or Linux version) then please pm me with the request and i'll send you over the link.
- I may or may not have videos for all of these files. If you come across a video of any of the files that I currently have no video for, then please send the link to me (1 min. minimum please.)
- If anyone finds that having these videos posted "as is" slows down their computer so much as to affect their computer's performance, please contact me and I will replace them with links to the videos and/or screenshots instead of featuring them on the page.
- If any of the links/videos become broken or corrupted please contact me ASAP and I will replace them with working links/videos.
- I have installed and played all of the games (That I post, not all of the games in the world.), so if you are having problems installing them or getting them to work then pm me and i'll try to help you out (I only run Windows so sorry Mac and Linux users, I won't be any help to you.)

Welcome to CWF! We're always happy to see some new faces around here.

Sanctum really looks interesting. A mixture between FPS and tower-defense game seems a nice idea to me. I don't think I've seen anything like that before.

About the screenshots: They're not necessary. I think a youTube video is at least as good as it shows potential players what they can expect.

Thanks, I needed to sleep early last night so I wasn't able to finish posting the games, anyways, i'll put them up soon enough. Glad to hear a youtube vid is sufficient because they're a lot easier to find. Also, i'm happy to hear you like the game, that's incentive enough to put up as many as I can  .
In response to your question, I think i'm going to be staying so no need to worry about me leaving as soon as i'm done posting games.

Thanks, I'd love for this site to become a great place to find all the quality freeware games out there. I might apply and see if there's anything I can do to help.

I'm glad I was able to help, i'm sure many people will enjoy those games (I certainly have). Still not done yet though. I just needed to take a break (Posted 15 games yesterday I think). Anyways, i'll see if I can find anything else worth sharing and get them on the forums as soon as possible. And maybe take more time to tweak up my descriptions of them (most of my descriptions are one sentence.)

Videos say a lot more than most descriptions. :)
I am very sure that your dedication so far could earn you a spot on the crew if you want to. We always need Gamehunters, which are the guys that play the games and vote 1-6 on them. 3 are needed to get an average score, so 3 guys needs to play the same game before it is accepted and we host it on our servers.
Just say the word. :)
