JNKPlat 2010 : With Level Editor

Post by jayenkai »

It's that time of year again, when I try to redo JNKPlat and add as much as I can to a single release!

This year I've zoomed right into the action, and added an extra layer of fuzziness to the game.

Does it help, or does it hinder? Hmm.. Maybe that's the point!!

Well, I think everyone has been quite busy these last weeks. Two of us are moving for instance. :)
But I haven't gotten around to playing this yet. It is downloaded I believe, but just haven't had the time yet...

Yep! And then I threw it all away. :)

We are moving to a MUCH smaller apartment, so lots of stuff are not invited to join us. :)

JNKPlat's been updated, again, and now has over 130 levels.
Is that enough yet!?

Nah.. Gotta get to a nice round 150!

Expect more next week!

Well I finally got around to trying this and I will never get through 150 levels so dont worry about me. Too many games to play too little time. :)

I think this is one of Jay's better games. Lots of playing time with this and lots of levels. I don't know if it's better than the older version. But i think that this game in itself is very good.

I don't know how I missed this for such a long time. This game is a real retro platform gem. Playing this I really thought I was back in the good old times when computer games were still young and creativity and a good level design were all you needed to create a great game.

Level design is nearly perfect. Many of the levels seem to be easy on first sight, but when you look closer they are kind of hard or unable to solve until you discover the the twist or the right strategy. With more than 150 levels you will have fun with the game for a very long time and after that you could still use the editor and create your own levels.

:O A year and a bit!!?

I've tried a few times to get a JNKPlat going on my iPod.
I'd LOVE to have it working on there, but the whole "Two-button-jump", combined with the required up/down/left/right/hold thing.. It's just not something that's manageable when the target device has.. um.. NO BUTTONS!!
I hate that I can't achieve it.
It's weighing heavily, because I've seen how much people love JNKPlat. It takes time for them to bother trying. The Two Button Jump tends to put people off, but once they try it.. Once they see WHY there's two jump buttons.. I don't think people ever complain about it!
The game feels great, and unless I can achieve that without buttons, I don't think it'll be happening any time soon.

..
and that makes Jay very sad :(

This edition is Most Excellent!
There's a 2008 edition for the Nintendo DS (You have to grab a Homebrew/Flash cart to play that one) and that's just as great.
In many ways, that one feels just a little bit better, with the Jump/Hold thing working fantastically well on the face-buttons.
But this is good, too!

...
I'm really ticked off that I have no iOS version.
grrr..
damn you Apple!!!!
Gimme da buttons!!!!!
