I'm still alive!!! I made the run in 1 hour 56 minutes and 15 seconds, which is about 5 minutes better than last year and, regarding the weather, much better than I expected. I'm pretty happy!

You should be happy. That is a great time. And you broke the less than 2 hours mark! Congrats.

Real life is keeping me insanely busy lately.

I went to my doctor's yesterday and he discovered that the pharmacy I get my seizure meds from goofed last month: Instead of 20 mg pills I got 2 mg, which pretty much does nothing for me.

So the doctor was surprised that I was doing fairly well, but he advised me to take it easy while getting back on the proper dosage.

eMTe, this means I have been picking up FreeTrain again and have a nice map about 3/4 way done.

Well I spent all day doing moving stuff. I moved alot of stuff from one cellar-storage-room to another, and did some electricity work, also got some smaller carpenting stuff done, and did a lot of packing. I am pretty beat now. My mom had invited all of us over for rolls and coffee (danish tradition due to a holiday tomorrow) and I needed the coffee to stay awake at the table.
Now I got home, took a bath and watched some trash-TV, and I am already for bed. Just finished todays shift of looking over my internet auctions (trying to sell some tuff before I throw it out), and planning our 1 year anniversary of marriage which is the 30th of May. And the best thing is that I got an exact replica of this day, coming up tomorrow... :) Saturday is the big moving day, and I got Sunday, Monday and Tuesday off from work, so I can do some stuff there as well...

I am home now, after making a couple sales at my shop earlier.

Got a package in the mail today - a box of old 78 RPM records. Mostly popular music from the 1930s and 1940s - Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw, and Tommy Dorsey.

There were a couple others in there as well - Claude Thornhill (His tune 'Snowfall') and Charlie Spivak among others.

Listening to some of them now!

Doing anything special for the 1 year celebration Curly?

Good set of tunes RWM, I don't own a record player so unfortunately I have to listen to all my 30's and 40's on mp3. Not the same...

Speaking of working around the house Curly, I started ripping apart the backyard a couple of weeks ago but because work is basically wearing me thin I haven't been able to finish it, and now it looks post-apocalyptic back there...I don't need to play Fallout 3, I just go into my backyard...plus there are about 20 squirrels out there having some sort of turf war over our bird feeder...it's like a whole other world back there...

Looks good, except that you broke the Italics...

I spent all day moving - from 7.00 this morning until now. We made amazing progress before 10, so spirits were high all day. We are actually almost done with everything in the new apartment - only things left is stuffing things in cupboards, and setting up the desktop computer (this is written on the laptop). Anna was really pleased with her new and bigger room, but did break my heart when I was tugging her in, and I asked her if she likes her new room:
"Yes Dad - but could we please move back to the old apartment because I dont want to live here anymore."
*Insert horrbile sound of my heart breaking in halves here....*

Other than that there are a few things in the old apartment that needs to be thrown away, and some stuff in the basement that needs attention as well. I am looking at this positive, and hope my daughter will too in the morning...

Aren't they cute at that age?
Although, when I first moved into the house I bought I think I thought the same thing especially when we were sleeping on the floor the first night...But instead of breaking my wife's heart, she just gave me a back-hander and told me to shut-up...kids are so lucky.

I did some backyard work yesterday. I have more to do today...when we moved in our backyard was half concrete and half interlocking stone, with a garden surrounding the interlocking...I imagine at one point it was amazing to look at, but the guy we bought the place off of, really ran this place into the ground...it's been interesting, DIY jobs that we think are going to be easy, like removing wallpaper turn interesting fast when we realize the only thing holding up the wall is the wallpaper...so let's just say I taught myself how to drywall rather quickly...so back to the backyard, I finally got about 95% of the interlocking stone out...I left a bit for a walkway. My wife dismantled most of the garden, and I moved the dirt out of it and started spreading it over the backyard...we found the remains of what was a light post, including electrical wiring and the ground post...instead of trying to figure out how to get it out, I traced to make sure the wiring wasn't live, then buried the rest...Today I get to rip down half of the fence we have, I asked my wife why we needed a fence when our neighbour also has a fence...it doesn't make sense, so I get to rip down ours which should give us another 6" of backyard at the back.

Later, much later, we're taking out the shed. In a already small backyard someone decided to put in a 12'X12' shed. Which takes up the entire backyard, so we're going to dismantle it and give it to my dad, who apparently needs another shed. And build ours a little smaller and put it in an alcove in our backyard on the concrete slab, then we're going to raise the backyard about 4 inches with soil over the concrete and grow grass, essentially burying the concrete. So it should be interesting...I just hope we don't find a bomb shelter under the shed, although it really wouldn't surprise me...

Now the desktop is up and running with a somewhat unstable mobile broadband connection...
Today I threw away a lot of stuff, I got some curtains put up, got the boxes we moved in moved down to the basement, and got some groceries-shopping done, and had a fun walk with my dear daughter who loved her new room today, so there is a good chance I will be able to sleep alot better tonight. Last night I lay awake for 2 hours trying to decide that this move was a good thing - somewhat colored of cours by Annas last minute heartbreaker...
I am not in doubt today about this being a good thing!

I had a garden like that some time ago Pager, so I understand fully how you are feeling. The guy we took over from actually planted bamboo, which, if people dont know, is IMPOSSIBLE to remove without an axe, some explosives or a bulldozer... He also put some bricks in the lawn for the surprising effect it gives when you run a lawnmover over it...

As long as you keep a positive attitude everything will work out fine.
I tried my best to say something and not sound like a fortune cookie.

AS for my yard, phase 1 is complete. We removed all the flagstone and interlocking stone that we are going to, and removed all the plants that have over-run the gardens. The bees were pissed! For a bit there it was me, and my trusty new shovel, versus the raging onslaught of bees. I'm glad to say that I did not get stung, but must have lookef like a crazy person screaming Duke Nukem tag lines and swinging a shovel about frantically...

It's always good to let the neighbours know what kind of person you are right away, so they dont go around guessing. I mean...they would never have guessed you would be a "crazy person screaming Duke Nukem tag lines and swinging a shovel about frantically" now, would they?

Welcome to the neighbourhood! :cow:

The 160 GB SATA hard drive failed in my laptop over the weekend. Luckily I was able to replace it with a 250 GB and use a USB-SATA adpater to slave the drive and retrieve documents.

It is like a new laptop now, but I have to reinstall all my programs and such. This time I am organizing files more neatly though.

Got to my shop today and the building receptionist had some model train stuff for me- some trees, a station building kit, and some road vehicles for the layout. Plus her daughters laptop got dropped and naturally the LCD is broken! At least I have a spare Toshiba 14" LCD handy. :-)

I need a second coffee today, I am still sluggish.

The CWF Drinking and Running Club scores yet another victory. Half-marathon at 2.03.11 or thereabouts. :marathon:

Pretty good considering I didn't have time to train at all during last month due to a nasty flu and the time-consuming puppy. It's also a nice improvement from last year's result, but still a long 3 minutes away from breaking the 2 hour mark.

There's always next year...

Good work Zyx! I am still recuperating from my knee, so there is no running for me still. I have however been on my bike, and well the moving alone keeps me in good shape. :) We are almost done now though - emptying boxes, assembling furniture, and finding our way in this new apartment.

Or always a new half-marathon. I don't think there's a law that you're just allowed to run one each year... ;)

Did anyone watch the ice-hockey world championship? I really think the group with Denmark, Finland, USA and Germany is really strange. So far the USA lost against Germany and Denmark and Denmark alsoo beat Finland. Certainly not the results you would've expected.
